Island of The Great White Shark Documentary

One of the most critically acclaimed new White Shark documentaries is Island of the Great White Shark an RTSea Production.

Shot entirely at famed white shark site Isla Guadalupe this film has been garnering rave reviews all summer long. It can also be purchased here:

"There are so many films about great white sharks that show the animal being aggressive and attacking its prey. As a shark enthusiast, I am tired of this type of portrayal. I want to see movies that show the great white in its natural behavior. I want to actually learn about the shark. This DVD does exactly that... it teaches me... about the shark, about the science being conducted, and about what it's like to actually be in the water with these magnificent creatures. Kudos to the filmmaker for taking a risk and making a movie about real research."

Thanks for the promotion. I have been heartened by how the film has been received. Given how shark diving at Isla Guadalupe is slowly devolving, it's also bittersweet.

Eco-tourism has played an important role in supporting research at the island and acting as watch guards during the 4 months that the sharks are there. It's questionable as to whether the Mexican government will be able and willing to protect these sharks in the future from poachers and renegade commercial fishermen.

When I filmed Island of the Great White Shark, it was to promote the conservation of these magnificent predators. I'm sadden by the prospect that it may serve as their epitaph.
